Kyle Marie Pyne


For several seasons Kyle Marie Pyne performed as principal clarinet with OperaColumbus and Columbus Ballet Met. Additionally she has served as second and bass clarinetist with the Columbus Symphony. Previous to that Kyle had played with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Grand Tetons Orchestral Institute. As a former clarinet instructor at Capital University, she performed regularly in faculty recitals and a soloist with University ensembles and in summer festivals at the University of New Mexico, University of Arizona, and the University of Oklahoma, plus ICA conferences at Virginia Commonwealth and the University of Illinois. Kyle holds the BFA degree in music from the SUNY at Buffalo and pursued graduate studies at the Juilliard School of Music (as a Ziegler scholar), studying with Leon Russianoff. Additional studies were with Stanley Hasty at the Eastman School of Music. Kyle plays a very active role in Pyne/Clarion both managerially and as mouthpiece craftsman. The mother of three children, Kyle enjoys visits by her grandchildren and spare-time fishing along with husband Jim.
